Max

Max’s Top 5 of 09 (Max is the host of a Bluegrass/Acoustic show, Sundays from 4-6)

Here goes bluegrass/folk/acoustic (bluecoustik?) top 5:

5. Anne and Pete Sibley- Coming Home. Good song writing, awsome harmonies.http://www.anneandpetesibley.com/

4. Steve Earle: Townes. Not your typical tribute album. Earle does some original interpretations of the songs, and does an awsome job of capturing the feel of the songs. Darker than I would have thought too.

3. Devil Makes Three: Do Wrong Right. Great song writing with a stripped down sound.

2. Red Stick Ramblers: My Suitcase Is Always Packed. Awsome cajun based, Texas-swing music. These guys kill it and are known to play into the wee hours of the morning.

1. Steep Canyon Rangers: Deep In the Shade. These guys have it all, tight harmonies, killer instrumentation, and original song writing. Well produced, thought out album. Best young band in bluegrass hands down.
