Jackson Hole Community Radio (KHOL) will begin airing Democracy Now! 9 - 10 AM weekday mornings, starting February 2.  Democracy Now! is a daily independent, international news hour hosted by Amy Goodman & Juan Gonzalez. KHOL is excited about this opportunity to provide an established news show to compliment the station’s locally-produced public affairs programming. Listeners can expect a broad spectrum of national and international news headlines and features ranging from in-depth economic and foreign policy analysis to extended interviews with legendary musicians, authors and activists.

When I first heard M.I.A’s track Paper Planes in early 2008 I was pretty blown away.  Diplo’s beat is so catchy and the chorus with kids chanting and gunfire sample may not be tasteful but it’s certainly infectious.  Fast forward to January 2009, and I think if i hear this song one more time I’m going to throw my radio out the window.  Read More…

So I put together a little top 10 list of my favorite albums of 2008.  It wasn’t easy.  I tried to write a little bit about each album, to make it interesting.  I don’t claim to be a music writer, just an appreciator, so please forgive crummy descriptions and poor choices of adjectives.  I tried to pick albums that I’ll still want to listen to in 2009, not necessarily the ones I listened to the most in 2008.  There are youtube videos for each album that should give you a little glimpse of what they’re all about.  I hope you readers will comment and let me know what your favorite albums from 2008 were!
